CHERMAYEFF & GEISMAR & HAVIV is based in Manhattan. Since 1958, they have been famous for having created some of the most well-known iconic logos and identities for brands such as Chase, Mobil or National Geographic.

We had the privlege to encounter Sagi Haviv & Mackey Saturday at their office. Sagi Haviv is one of the partners. He is a designer, and he studied at Cooper Union in New York. He designed many identities for corporations and institutions. We also had the chance to meet Mackey Saturday: principal designer at CGH he’s also known for his redesign of the Instagram logo in 2013.

We learned a lot about their point of view on graphic design, and the way they work as a team to offer the client the most powerful and relevant solution. Once the logo and identity are created, the biggest challenge is convincing the client, notably when dealing with a logo that needs to be so simple as to be universally appreciated. By choosing their words carefully, by illustrating their ideas with powerful images and with a sharp sense of humor, they go the extra mile needed to convince and obtain buy-in to the best of everyone’s interest.

We would like to extend our thanks for their time and precious advice.
